About Touch Surgery
Who we are
We’re building a company that makes a difference. A company that impacts people around the world. A company that helps to save lives. That’s why our people are so important to us. We look after you, which helps you look after everyone else. We use pixels, data and code to improve healthcare – and we’re starting with global surgery. Over 5 billion people around the world do not have safe surgical care. We do our part by ensuring that the surgical community around the world are connected and empowered to make the best decisions for their patients.
Our people make Touch Surgery special. The Touch Surgery family solve problems everyday in the name of our core mission to connect and empower the global surgical community. Yes – we call it a family because that’s how we feel about everyone.
At Touch Surgery we bring together smart and talented people from a large diversity of backgrounds, cultures and experiences. As well as being founded by surgeons who self-taught themselves to code, we have world-leading talent from the movie/visual effects industry (including some oscar winning movies), mobile, gaming and digital sectors.
The Touch Surgery Lab is located near Old Street Station in a newly refurbished space, which is right in the heart of the growing technology startup scene in London. We call it a Lab because we are continuously experimenting with better ways to do things.
If you decide to join us, expect to make friends that go beyond work, and learn new things everyday. All whilst making the world a better place.
Somewhere in a lab in London...
Jean cofounded Touch Surgery with Andre whilst training in Plastics & Reconstructive surgery. He has an honours degree in Surgical Simulation and Technology from Imperial College London. When not in the lab, Jean can be found running along the Thames, or at one of the many technology Meetups around London.
Andre cofounded Touch Surgery whilst finishing his PhD in stem cell research and training as a General Surgeon. When not in the lab being super busy with his hand involved in every aspect of the product, Andre spends his spare time finding ways to climb up rocks and trying to push his French bulldog off the sofa (unbeknown to the mutt, the mascot of Touch Surgery).
Head of Operations
Eric is a veteran of a number of fast growth companies and came to Touch Surgery directly from the SwiftKey acquisition. Apart from successfully scaling companies, Eric's passions in life include art, southern BBQs, hard boiled eggs and of course.... spreadsheets.
Head of Marketing & Engagement
Kim comes to TS with 15 years of knowledge within Medical devices. Time spent at companies like Stryker and Biomet, along with the many product lines he covered (robotics, spine, knees, pediatrics, trauma, biologics, bone growth stimulation) gives him a broad perspective on how to create the best possible experience for our surgeon and industry partners. Kim is a geek at heart and our first USA-based team member.
